Girls and pink wine BD22 Grenache Mourvedre

Fruit from our estate vineyard is organically grown by co-owner, Josh Beckett. The Grenache and Mourvèdre were handpicked and then loaded, whole cluster, directly into the press. A gentle squeeze of the fruit was intentional in order to avoid the extraction of any harsh or unwanted flavors or tannins.

Once pressed, the juice was directly transferred to neutral French Oak barrels. The juice was barrel fermented for three months before being racked off its gross lees. At this time, we put together our blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre and then transferred it back to a neutral French Oak barrel until bottling in March 2023.

The nose is full of bright strawberry and cherry flavors with subtle hints of flint. A surprisingly creamy texture on a palate of cranberries, strawberries, ripe guava and juicy, red plum. The red berry flavors add a refreshing acidity to this irresistible wine. Floral notes and hints of dried herbs along with an essence of the chalky terroir are surprising undertones. The color of this wine is a rosy shade of pink with alluring cranberry hues.
