Sourced entirely from our CCOF Certified Organic estate vineyard in the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles, Future Crossings 2023 reflects the rising complexity of our fifth-leaf vineyard. With a dynamic blend of 59% Grenache, 32% Syrah, 6% Zinfandel, and 3% Mourvèdre, this wine expresses our belief that great wines begin in the vineyard. Harvested on October 6, 2023, the grapes were fermented with traditional destemming and open top fermentation to enhance optimal texture and freshness. Gentle punch-downs once or twice daily encouraged extended skin contact and integrated tannins. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French Oak barrels, the wine embodies the essence of its terroir while showcasing the complexity of the varietal blend. Each of these Rhone varieties are vinified separately prior to blending. In the final process, we strive to allow each varietal to showcase itself in the wine in a complex harmony of flavor. The blend is aged in neutral and new French oak barrels to offer nuances of spice and cedar and add a hint of toasted oak to the wine’s profile.

more about this wine

Aromatic hints of fruity tea leaves, orange rind, and herbs lead into a juicy, approachable palate with flavors of dried fig, chocolate shavings, and blueberry. Mild tannins sweep across the tongue with a lifted acidity and a red-purple hue, finishing long with a slow fade of fruit and spice. This is a wine that doesn’t need a moment — it creates one.

Future Crossings 2023 is deliciously flexible at the table — think roasted vegetables with Moroccan spices or smoky eggplant flatbreads for a vegetarian pairing that dances with the wine’s herbal notes. For the more adventurous, try it with a spiced lentil stew topped with crispy potatoes. Best enjoyed during moments of pause — like catching the last warmth of the sun on a hilltop, or unrolling a picnic blanket just because.
