Best Day Rosé 2024: Grenache, Amphora, and Intention

Farming with Care, from the Ground Up
Best Day Rosé begins in our CCOF Certified Organic Thibido Estate Vineyard, where farming is guided by long-term thinking rather than short-term gain. Every decision in the vineyard is made with an eye toward soil health, balance, and longevity — because the best wines come from vineyards that are cared for, not pushed.
Grenache thrives here, responding beautifully to Paso Robles’ warm days and cool evenings. Its transparency makes it an ideal grape for expressing both place and philosophy. By farming organically and harvesting by hand, we allow the vineyard to speak clearly — without shortcuts, corrections, or cosmetic adjustments.
The fruit for this rosé was hand-harvested by owner Josh Beckett and his crew in the early days of fall and loaded straight into the back of our truck. It’s a small detail, but one that reflects something larger: staying close to the process, remaining accountable at every step, and never losing sight of where the wine begins.

Curiosity in the Cellar: Amphora as a Tool, Not a Statement
Once in the winery, whole clusters of Grenache were gently pressed, extracting just enough color to achieve its naturally rosy pink hue — vibrant, delicate, and honest.
The juice was transferred directly into our smallest 80-gallon terracotta amphora, a vessel we use intentionally and sparingly. For us, amphora isn’t about novelty; it’s about curiosity and restraint. It’s a way to explore texture and minerality while allowing the varietal to remain the focus.
Our amphoras maintain cool temperatures, slow fermentation and preserve aromatic lift. The amphora’s natural convection gently stirs the wine throughout fermentation and aging, building texture without heaviness. The result is a rosé that feels both fresh and complete — shaped by time and patience rather than manipulation. This minimalist approach reflects our belief that wine should be guided, not forced.
In the Glass: Clarity, Balance, and Ease
On the nose, dusty strawberries, wild raspberries, and a hint of orange zest rise from the glass with quiet confidence.
The palate is juicy and vibrant, layered with cherry, pomegranate, and early strawberry, followed by a subtle touch of spice. Mouthwatering acidity carries the wine through a crisp, refreshing finish that coats the tongue with bright red fruit and a clean snap of energy.
